Synopsis

At its core, “Buried Hearts” is a high-stakes revenge thriller. The story introduces Seo Dong-ju (played by Park Hyung-sik), a seemingly loyal corporate secretary at Daesan Group, who secretly aspires to rise to the top. In a daring bid for power, Dong-ju hacks into a colossal two trillion won political slush fund. This perilous act draws the ire of Yeom Jang-seon (portrayed by Huh Joon-ho), a former National Intelligence Service director turned law professor, whose life is equally entangled with political and financial manipulation.

After a near-fatal confrontation leaves Dong-ju with amnesia, the ensuing narrative unfolds as a gripping battle: Dong-ju’s quest for revenge and control versus Jang-seon’s desperate efforts to reclaim his lost fortune and maintain his iron grip on power. Interwoven with corporate scheming, familial vendettas, and unexpected betrayals, the drama promises twists that challenge every assumption about loyalty and ambition.

Character Dynamics and Performances

Seo Dong-ju / Huh Seong-hyeon (Park Hyung-sik):
Initially known as the “Daesan Man” for his unwavering commitment to Daesan Group, Dong-ju reveals layers of ambition and vulnerability after suffering memory loss. Yeo Eun-nam (Hong Hwa-yeon):
As the granddaughter of the Daesan Group chairman and initially Dong-ju’s love interest, Eun-nam’s character navigates turbulent personal and political waters. Her suspicions about her adoptive father, Heo Il-do, add layers of intrigue and emotional depth to her storyline.

Heo Il-do (Lee Hae-young):
The CEO of Daesan Energy and a key player in the corporate power struggles, Il-do’s personal vendetta against Dong-ju sets the stage for a bitter rivalry. His ambitions and family feuds contribute to the drama’s multifaceted conflicts.
